From the PrezA VIEW FROM THE TOP November 2010 FROM THE PREZ: Yes, I know Kittyhawk is one great ski club, but I am referring to the Agatha Christie play, ‘The Verdict’, which will be presented at Xenia Area Community Theatre at 45 E. 2nd St. Dates are Nov. 5, 6, 12, and 13 at 7:30, and Nov. 14 at 3:00. Del Thomas is the doctor and I am the snoopy, gossipy, disagreeable, British housekeeper. No comments about type casting, ok! Anyway, it should be good. Call 372-0516 for reservations and visit the website, www.xact.org, for additional information. It would be great to see some of you there. The leaves are falling outside and it won’t be too long before the snow is falling. I much prefer snow… you don’t have to rake snow. No matter how long you ignore leaves they don’t melt, another point in snow’s favor. Our first membership meeting was held on 19 October at ‘The Filling Station’. I heard some great comments about the food and John Cole got us all up to date on the latest changes and upgrades at Perfect North. There were four lift tickets to Perfect North available as door prizes and one of our new members Shawn McGee won one of the PN tickets. The only drawback was the loudspeaker from the Trivia Night in the adjoining room, but that issue has been solved, I hope. My thanks to our VP Mary Brant for organizing the meetings. Also thanks to the members who helped represent Kittyhawk at the Single Airman’s Picnic on Oct. 22nd, Amy Spillers, Brittany Schott, Bob Brant, and Herb Weatherhead. Yes, we got 4 new members, got to meet the new management at the ‘Skywrighter’, and got to eat some free hotdogs. We also met the new base commander and talked about Kittyhawk’s long history with Wright-Patt. I’m sorry I didn’t get to involve more of you; it was a rather spur of the moment opportunity. Speaking of opportunities, I’d like all of you to please keep your eyes and ears open regarding opportunities to promote the club. We are its best ambassadors. If you have any suggestions please contact me and hopefully we can get the word out about what a great club Kittyhawk is. The ski trip sign-ups are underway and the social calendar is looking good. Make sure you read all the articles in this issue and consider signing up for some of the great trips we are offering. Please come and have some fun. Hope to see you all soon.
